Originally designed by Richard Sequerra and Sidney Smith - the designers of one of the most famous tuners ever mode - the MARANTZ 10B and their goal was to exceed the Marantz's performance.
This model was called an "engineering tour de force" by Stereophile Magazine in 1989. Its a really great review - google around for it - it's the June 1989 issue - review by Larry Greenhill and explains in detail about the technology, heritage and the company name mergers, etc.
The Sequerra Model No. 1 Broadcast Monitor is a combination of a FM multiplex tuner and a multi-purpose oscilloscope display.
This was designed for radio stations to analyze their signals and understand their performance limitations, and was quickly adopted by home owners that wanted the absolute best of the best.
One of the neatest features is the built in oscilloscope that is hard to miss. It has several different modes - Panoramic, Display Tuning, and Tuner Vector. And there's also a 4th mode titled External Vector which allows you to input external signal.
